Founded in 2023, by a librarian and information science professional and his family, the nonprofit company plans to grow from a small operational base and website into a global educational outreach endeavor. 

Inspired by the growing numbers of citizen science projects in astronomy and the convergence of the “rising stars” efforts in STEM education with focused outreach to youth in astronomy.

Setting Stars is designed for the older population, more settled in years and maturity, whose life trajectories are aimed through our zeniths to our next horizons.  

Exoplanets are future destinations as well, and we can adopt one or more of these systems as they are discovered as our own favorites. 

Elder communities of interest will develop, and our nonprofit seeks to nurture life enrichment and continuing education around the senior citizen science of exoplanets. 

Our goal is to bring the discoveries of thousands of exoplanets directly to seniors and elders through an engaging web experience full of multiple media and a shared online community.
